Birds tend to prefer to land either in front of the blind (near the North corner of the dam), or in the Northern arm of the lake.
Expect a mixed bag on this lake, with Green-Winged Teal, Gadwall, and Ringnecks being the most common species.
There are homes about 300 yards above the lake, so please be respectful when entering the property in the wee hours of the morning and dim your headlights.

Good hunt at Kickapoo this morning. Set-up next to little cut left of dam in a layout blind. Mixed bag of teal early then gadwall and finished up with a beautiful hooded merganser. Steady 2-3 bird groups that worked decoys well.
