This property is closed for the remainder of the season 2024-2025. Nestled just 20 miles south of downtown Dallas, this picturesque 13-acre rock quarry lake, shaped like the letter "L," offers a unique haven for duck hunters. Embracing the characteristics typical of rock quarry lakes, it features abundant deep water and boasts nearly 1 mile of inviting shoreline. The expansive shoreline provides an ideal setting for a full day of immersive duck hunting. Recent assessments reveal impressive results, with a thriving waterfowl population making this location a promising choice for avid hunters. Book this duck hunting lake today, where the relative abundance of waterfowl promises an extraordinary experience in the heart of Texas. A four wheel drive truck is highly recommended here. This property is very muddy with any amount of rainfall. Any vehicles without four wheel drive should not leave the parking area marked on the map. Please use caution. The property offers a large 8' x 16' barge/pontoon boat WITHOUT seats. Picture a pontoon boat with just a deck and a place to mount a trolling motor to the front. Why don't we have a regular jon boat? Since the property is not locked, but it is monitored multiple times a day, we cannot take a chance on a light weight jon boat being stolen. The Barge is too heavy to steal. The GATE CODE ON YOUR RESERVATION IS THE LOCK YOU NEED TO UNLOCK THE BOAT. YOU MUST LOCK THE BOAT BACK. We would suggest you bring at least a 50 lb trolling motor with at least two batteries. The boat/barge is heavy.

No teal but tons of Whistlers

Bobby Morgan on Sep 25 ,2024

Entertaining morning with Black Bellied whistlers. Probably 50-100 at their peak but pretty much always had 5-10 in front, behind or too ours sides. Not a teal in the sky. But at least we had something to watch on a…

Opening Teal

Bobby Morgan on Sep 14 ,2024

Entertaining morning with tons of Mexican Black Belly flocks. Probably 30-40 birds working in and landing over and over. Hope they stick around for big duck! No Teal seen
