This hunt had the makings of what could have been the hunt of a lifetime as it was by far the coldest day of the year so far and the wind was perfect. Unfortunately upon my arrival, I discoveded that the entire lake was completely frozen over. Furthermore, there was so much ice build-up on the entrance to the duck blind that the door wouldn’t even open. 

I couldn’t actually hunt due to the icey conditions so I decided to sit on the shore and just watch all the birds trying to find a place to land that wasn’t frozen over.
