Iced over north section and windy main lake. We broke ice on the north side and set up motion decoys then hunted 50 yards east of the small spread. We lucked out and hammered the birds unwilling to either decoy or land in the narrow cuts, choosing to land near an ‘entry’ into the mostly frozen north we’d cut. Gads came early and often, had 6 down before sunrise. Ringnecks came mid hunt as well a pair of shovelers. Rest of day was singles dropping in. Lots of long shots, but walked off with 15 for the day so we could go grab some breakfast together. One note there was very little movement around us, if it was seen it was on us. Didn’t see typical high flyers or birds moving around.
