Fry
Even though it was too dark to see them, geese were honking and flying while unloading the vehicle at 5:15AM. Presumably they were using the pond as a roost and were spooked off of it. A flock of 4 geese flew south to north on the east side not quite an hour after sunset. A couple of other flocks with about 2 dozen geese in aggregate responded to calling but stayed high directly over the lake. They came in from the north and flew out over the dam to the south.
Only one duck landed on the pond and that was around 7:15AM. A flock of 4 ducks gave the decoys a look around 9:15, but never slowed down or reduced altitude. The cormorants were active and a number of them decided to land.
