Early group of shovlers came in hard, followed shortly by wad of green wings for some fun shooting. Surprised later by some canvasbacks who decoyed nicely. Group of Mallards finished off the hunt for us. Not quite a triple limit but probably could've if we'd sat longer and gone after the ringnecks.

Layout this time. Found a gap in the trees on the south side (of the main 3 acre lake). Previously we were on north side in chairs just off bank, but cover wasn’t good enough for the blue bird day that developed. All groups came from the east hard and fast and hooked back around in groups of 8-10 (excluding cans which were only 4 strong). But didn’t see any of the Gads or woodies we shot last week there. Also didn’t see or hear geese much. we had Goose, Wood duck and Gads in the spread with a handful of motion mallards. A few groups of high flyers were also noted, but they weren’t looking at us.

We had planned to hunt the far 1 acre lake, but got there early and scouted it and the other lake to decide but lacked cover and didn’t have any signs of birds nor any stand out nutrition for them so we went back to the big lake.

Nathan,

do you have Whitehouse tomorrow? Would you be down to split it with me; I hunt solo. I would take what ever spot you don't want on the property since it is so big.
