Is it just me, or does it seem like the properties just across the road from every property I’ve hunted are running out of ammo, and I don’t see a single duck on any of the properties?

Goose hunts and open fields. Probably the only challenge to private water is when it rains like this the birds and open feed in flooded fields which are hard to combat.
