Conditions were very favorable this morning. There were literally hundreds of ducks flying before 8AM. Unfortunately, they flew high down the middle of lake and then dropped into the pond off property to the southwest. Flock after flock paid no interest to the decoy spread and just got sucked into that vortex. In the 9 o’clock hour, a few divers and a dabbling duck landed in the middle of Malouf, but well out of shooting range. A few more ducks materialized after 10 and wanted to sit down on the east side halfway between the blind and the dam. The lake likely needs a couple of days of rest to return it to its typical productivity and keep the ducks from going to their present refuge nearby.
