It was not looking good this morning; the property to the north (aggregate pit) was on fire, but I only had 3 mallards buzz my spread.

At 8am I was about to pack it and leave, and then I heard some honkers. I had silhouette decoys, and they went nuts. They came into my spread, and I nailed one of them.

Was just curious if you hunted one of the ponds or along the canal?

Main pond in the pictures; I had three mallrds land in the canal during my hunt. The two “ponds” along the canal look like good opprotunities. The one furest down the canal is where I am going to try Saturday. It was shallow and the bottom was firm enough to walk far in and soread decoys.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I was wondering how the depth/ bottom was on those smaller ponds. That's good that you can walk out a ways in it. Hopefully some birds show up for ya!
