Three sets of blue-winged teal arrived over a half hour period starting at 7:07AM. Birds were taken from all flocks. Every group committed to the spread without circling, which may be attributed more to the rain storm than to the decoy arrangement.
About 7:45, a wood duck flew in and swam around the decoy spread looking confused for about 45 minutes. It eventually went to the west side of the pond where it was joined by a grebe before coming back to the east side at about 9:20. They along with a number of killdeer provided some good entertainment after the influx of teal had ceased.
