Two adult/two person Minimums

Is the reason for this for safety, or simply to ensure maximum income from the reservation? In other words, are we allowed to fish alone if we pay for two adults? The reason I'm asking is to determine what happens if I make a reservation with a person I don't know well, and then that person backs out. Please clarify for me. Thanks in advance,

Tom

Steve Alexander called me yesterday to welcome me to the club, which I think was quite nice. During the call, I asked him about the above. He eexplained that the reason for the minimum is financial, with the exception of San Saba, which is both financial- and safety-based. Therefore, an individual may fish alone at any of the other 2-person or 2-adult properties by paying for two. Makes sense to me.  I also found out that our credit cards are not processed until after we fish.

I couldn't have said it better myself. San Saba is so isolated, that we have to have at least two people. Those of you who have fished San Saba understand why we have a two person minimum out there for safety, you are around 20 minutes from the nearest county road!

I love that Yates place allowing single fisherman for full days. My wife can't handle heat and not as persistent as I am. Was wondering if any other top properties such as Gilmer or Marshall may ever offer same thing? I understand the financial part though. Been to Yates place couple of times an absolute paradise. I know costs lot to maintain as well. Anyone heard anything or any thoughts?

Hi Jay,

Marshall, San Saba, Gilmer, Glen Rose, and Athens Neil Ranch are still 2 paid adult minimums. However, we spent thousands on dollars to create a partner finder system in hopes members would reach out to each other an invite somebody on a trip. It has not been used like we hoped. We plan to tweak it to make it better and easier to use over the next 90 days. We are in hopes that you will reach out and make some new fishing friends; allowing you to fish these 2 person minimun lakes.

Jay,

I just sent you a note through the reservation system. I'm in the same boat as you needing a partner for the 2 person minimum sites, plus sites like Timber lake where it just makes sense to have a 2nd person there for safety.

I'll usually be available to "partner up" for half-days, but I can't take the heat for a full day. Anyone needing a partner for a half-day can email me at phototex@yahoo.com.

Tom, glad to see you joined. I'm KD on the TFF who sent you the invitation to join me on one of the club lakes. I'm usually only good for a half day in the heat as well, so feel free to look me up sometime. I will drive anywhere to fish anywhere!  Im free Sundays and most Wednesdays.
