Status of Central Texas Lakes?

What have the recent rains south of here done to the lake levels at Medina, Tarpley, and San Saba? Also, what about the ones east of Austin?

San Saba had water going over the emergency spillway twice this year. This happens only every few years. However, they had two huge rains this year and the lake filled rapidly twice. Today the lake is 6 inches to a foot low. It is in great shape. The lake is closed through Feb 22nd for hunting. However, we generally get a few groups out during hunting season during the week. If you know a specific date we can check to make sure it does not interfer with hunting.

Tarpley is 60% full and Medina is 30% full. Both are in tough shape, but fishable as they are both deep lakes. Medina has water depths to 35 to 40 feet.

Giddings was very low a month ago as water was used for a couple of new oil/gas wells. Today the lake is close to full.

Fedor is a couple of feet low.

Tom. If you are planning a trip to any of those lakes, let me know if you are interested in fishing together.

Steve. Tarpley is in pretty good shape. The very back of both ends do not have any water, but I would say it is 80% full. The water color is good with clarity to about 3 ft. Depths in the middle are about 18-22 ft.
