Kit, last year I was referred to Bill Brown at 972-800-7387. He lives in The Colony and did a fine job on my reels. He also fixed some broken rod tips.

For reel repairs the cheapest and quickest I've found is Bass Pro Shops. You can ship them in (to Missouri) or drop off at your local store. I did that with three old reels last year. Price averaged about $60 per reel for parts and labor. I picked them up at the store and paid at that time. Also got back a plastic bag of old bad parts. I'm happy with the work and the price. Be aware it took 3 months to get them back, so would be good to do over winter. I would use them again.

After each use, I oil the worm drive on my bait casters. Several times per year, I take a small screwdriver and open the oil port that most bait casters have on the handle-side and apply a couple drops of oil. The oil kits are available at Bass Pro or Academy Sports.

I take my reels into these guys annually and have been happy with them:

You may not need annual service, but I use my bass tackle for SW fishing as well, so it's needed.
Hope that helps.

I need some advice. I have an older green Curado Bantam and Abu Ambassador that are around 8 or 9 years old, I think. I've never done anything to them. I also have three new bait casters I bought this year. I need to know how I should be maintaining them. How often should I oil them? Where to oil, etc?
Also, can anyone recommend someone to maintain or repair reels? I know I should at least get the older ones in for maintenance.
Thanks,
Kit
