Hello all. My name is James Ferguson. My wife (Lisa) and I are new members and so excited to be apart of this club. We are going to Parker Branch to fish this Thursday and Friday.(08/28 and 08/29) I know it's hot but just couldnt wait until the fall. Would anybody have any advise on what may be bitting there and a little about the lake?

Hello James, I'm Joel Conner also a fairly new member. I'm not familiar with the property you're going to, but can tell you what worked for

me a few weeks ago @ Tom Bean 9-G ranch. In the early morning, buzzbaits & spinnerbaits worked well, along with some interest in topwaters

as well.(use a trailer hook!) Later in the morning swiched to T/R 8" lizard & C/R creature bait with fair ammount of luck. Hope this helps.

I would throw watermelon seed flukes (Zoom).  I would concentrate on the big pond at the dock and along the dam.   If the Bass aren't cooperating you can fish the small pond. There I would use an inline rooster tail spinner, maybe yellow or white. That pond is loaded with huge bluegills.   

You ou might try some small stick baits along the dam (silver/black).

There are catfish in the big pond over by the dock area.   

Have  fun and take a lot of water, long sleeves shirt and a wide brim hat.   If the sky is clear at night check out the Milky Way galaxy and listen to the yotes.

Fishing is generally better on the smaller pond. During our shock survey two years ago on the bigger lake, the bass were stacked around the dock on the west side of the lake and the larg brush pile about 75 feet in front of it. This property is more about relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. While the lakes are OK, they will probably not hold your interest for 2 days if you plan to fish a bunch. You may want to take a morning or afternoon and fish Kickapoo, Lakeside, or Ben Wheeler Twin lakes. All 3 of those are less than 25 minutes away. Kickappo is 5 min away.

Well, My wife and I spent the two days at Parker Lake and even though it was really hot, we had a blast. The owner came out as we were arriving and was very nice. The big lake is way down with the drought. I walked the whole lake and caught 5 small ones in the middle of the afternoon and my wife stayed on the dock and caught 2 bass and a turtle. That was day one. The next day we didnt go out until about 5:00 pm and fished the whole time at the small pond. I caught about 10 small bass and my wife caught about 20 blue gill perch with the crickets. All in all, this was a great 2 days of just fishing and relaxing.
