No one has anything good or bad to say about their pond boat?

Kelly:
I fished out of the Pro 120 for several years and it is a great boat for our lakes. Easy toe load and unload from a trailer even with wheels on shore. A bit cramped on the front deck if using a foot controlled TM. There is a detailed discussion on May 20th, 2015 in the discussion forum. Phillip Chapin made several great modifications to his boat and I would contact him if you buy the 120. You will need a rudder. I have changed boats to a 14 foot open fiber glass boat on a trailer as it is very stable which is important as I age.
replaced the trailer bunks with rollers which makes the boat easy to load. I also added an electric winch which is handy on steep slopes. My tilt trailer allows me to load and unload the boat with the wheels on shore.
Good Luck

Thanks Steve. that response helped me in a lot of areas. I think I’ll build a Jon boat conversion and utilize the rollers you mentioned along with a winch. I was shying away from the Jon boats because of weight and your reply gave me ideas I hadn’t considered! I believe with the rollers and winch I can even launch in lakes that won’t allow trailers in the water

Kelly,
There is also a teflon-like material that you can buy in strips to attach to your trailer bunks that make your boat slide much easier in the
loading and unloading process if you are going to a heavier boat. They were on my trailer when I bought it and they are a life saver. Might be cheaper than converting to
rollers, but not sure. Amazon sells a kit for this purpose.

I use the Sun Dolphin 120. Zero complaints with it. It's great for the club lakes. Fellow member Zach Millwood has done a really cool conversion on his. Upgraded almost the entire boat. The possibilities are endless. I also spoke alot with Phillip Chapin, before i purchased mine. He has a lot of great insight, and upgrades to his as well.

I use an 8 foot fiberglass pram from Spring Creek Pram out of Washington State. It's very stable and I load the boat in and out of my pick up pretty easily. Sorry about the pictures.

Would someone with a Sun Dolphin 120 post the bottom width? I see jet ski trails for sale and wonder if they will work. I’m looking to see how wide the measurement between fenders needs to be for a trailer.

I bought a Hobie 14' PA. It's awesome. Very stable, great to maneuver and I have a trailer now.

If I were in the market for a club boat I would seriously consider this:

I have a Bass Hound 10.2 that I just listed on Craigs List for sale. I am still a member of Private Water Fishing but not going to fish now. Great small boat and loaded up, 2 troll motors, trailer, etc. If you are interested, go to Craigs List and put in "bass boat athens" and it will come up. Also, you can see the same pics by copying and pasting this link "https://photos.app.goo.gl/LKjPXoiLo1H9QEjy8" into your web browser. Any questions, give me a call at 903-340-5755. I live in Athens, TX, about 60 miles SE of downtown Dallas. Thanks, Bob Mooney

Stephen,
Bob sold this boat pretty quick. It is no longer for sale.
It would have been a good one.

i rejoined the club after take no off a few years. I’m curious what some of you guys are fishing out of. I recall several guys buying Sun Dolphin 120s and am curious how those boats have held up. I’m considering that, the Basshunter brand with their one piece construction or maybe another twin troller. Each has its pros and cons in relation to standing, sitting, etc
