Club boats?

What brand and size are the nicer club boats? Are we talking 1648, 1652 or 1754?

I've read a few comments from some of the more elite lakes about having wide boats or very stable ones. I'm tossing the idea of decking a jon boat (have for a year or more) and using it with my family. I see it as offering more space plus the ability to stand with more frequency..

I have a 15' decked Alumacraft john boat.  Wanted something light enough to hand launch that my dad, son and I can all fish from.  Not as stable as a bass boat, and I have fallen off it once.  But not a lot of stability in any boats that are that light, so it is a trade off.  Center of gravity is high when you deck over the bench seats.

1860 is hard to beat. 18 foot long with a 60 inch beam. The width is the key. The wider the better. Don;t get anything less than 48 inch. 54 and 60 are better yet. Tracker all welded boats are hard to beat for the money. http://www.trackerboats.com/jon-&-utility-boats.cfm However, there are better all welded boats (G3 Alumnicraft and lots of others) but they are generally more money.

I had a nice 1448 that was decked and carpeted both front and back.  Great to fish out of.  Just keep in mind the bigger the boat, and decking added, will get heavy fast.  I ended up selling the 1448 simply because on many of our lakes (especially in the past few years) the water levels dictate that you hand launch and hand load.  I fish by myself more often than not and I got tired of wrestling the boat off and on the trailer.  Went to the Sunpro12 and very happy.  MUCH lighter.  I will say though, if you and your fishing partners can handle the weight, you can't beat fishing out of a nice and wide decked Jon boat.

Good points made guys. As long as I can keep the itch under control it seems my best bet is to stay with my twin troller x10 and book the lakes with these bigger boats when the family wants to go.  As soon as the weeds get matted I will remember once again why I love my twin Troller and not having anything protruding into the water catching grass.
