Bluebonnet Ridge Duck Hunting Grounds Ennis, Texas – Just 34 miles south of Dallas There is only a blind at Mesquite Valley Lake currently. Bluebonnet Ridge isn't just a premier fishing retreat, it also offers an exceptional waterfowl hunting experience. Set amid the quiet countryside of Ennis, this dual-lake property provides the perfect blend of seclusion, habitat diversity, and convenience for duck hunters looking to escape the crowds without compromising on quality. Hunt One of Two Lakes, Your Choice with Each Booking When you book a duck hunt at Bluebonnet Ridge, you have the unique option to hunt either the main lake (Bluebonnet Ridge) or the adjacent Mesquite Valley Lake, two separate bodies of water, both with ideal conditions for holding ducks. This flexibility allows members to adjust based on wind, duck movement, and hunting pressure. Bluebonnet Ridge Lake: A larger, open water lake with aquatic vegetation, scattered cover, and shallow pockets that attract feeding ducks at first light and dusk. Mesquite Valley Lake: Smaller and more intimate, this lake often provides better concealment and can be especially productive during periods of high pressure or shifting wind. Key Hunting Features Diverse Water & Cover: Shallow marshy areas, deeper water zones, and native vegetation create attractive roosting and feeding spots for ducks. Ideal Blind Locations: Hunt from custom metal blinds with camouflage, natural shoreline cover, or brush-in layout blinds. Easy Access: Drive-up access to both lakes, with a boat ramp on the main lake.
