Hi, Sammy,
Welcome to the club. I'm sure you will have a ball exploring and fishing these fabulous lakes.
I fished Athens MK Ranch recently and can give you some tips. The first tip is how to find the lake lol. Enter the gate and go left at the first fork in the asphalt road. Follow that road to the house and turn left in front of the house. The asphalt will end and become a dirt ranch road. Continue to another gate then there's the lake.
The available mini pontoon boat is great. I had no trouble with my 45 lb Minn Kota trolling motor. We caught fish on the east and south sides of the lake. We used topwaters early then watermelon seed colored senkos and weighted super flukes in shad colors, catching a dozen or so in a morning. Biggest we caught was a 4-pounder on a super fluke dropped to the base of a large tree.
Others reported good catches along the west bank near the houses but we caught nothing there. "Your results may vary" - on your trip you may catch them all along the dam. LOL
The lake has some vegetation and submerged timber, especially in the south end, but it's easy to navigate. You will have a good time there, a great place to start as a new member. If you have specific questions about the property feel free to ask here or text me at 972-835-4660.
Tight lines and enjoy this beautiful property!

Hello Gents...and Ladies.
I'm not a seasoned fisherman...just a brush hawg person. Can any of you give me suggestions on more Ammo for MK Lake? I've only been on one PWF lake.
Any advice on strategies for MK would be very helpful.
Sammy
